Almost Paradise...

...you would think, walking down the streets of a prestigious college town, but instead, what my friends and I see at 11 p.m. on the first weekend of the start of the spring semester are countless drunk college students. After dodging a giant flock of college kids dressed in plaid flannel and short mini skirts, you'd think the worst is over. Well...technically, the worst is over. All that's left are the entertaining drunk ones.
"Hold on, let me go take a piss..."one mumbles as he runs straight into the pole of a garage of a nearby house. Oh yeah, definitely attractive. I'll take that one. But wait, there's more! Trying to direct a drunk friend in the right direction when you're walking on a crowded street is no easy feat. As one man tells his drunk friend (we'll call him Trail Blazer, coined by none other than Angela!) to go right, Trail Blazer insists, "no, no, we take a left..." trailing off to the left nearly missing the lightpost.
"No, dude trust me, it's right," Sober one says to Trail Blazer. Unconsciously, Trail Blazer turns around quickly running straight into spiky bushes, simply making him "Trail Blazer." He's hot. I want that one.
It's interesting to see that girls think they're hot when they're mooning the whole world walking down the streets. It's funny to watch guys act like complete idiots when they're drunk. It's as if the standard for the world has dropped, and not just a little.
Well anyways, aside from this slight tangent, my point is that all of this isn't attractive. Nor is it respectable. This is our Valentine's Day themed issue, and I encourage everyone to step away from all these shallow and temporary moments of life. Valentine's Day is about cherishing and embracing the love and relationships that we have around us. Whether it be that special romantic bond you have with your significant other or being content as a bachelor/bachelorette, Valentine's Day is a day to enjoy yourselves.
It's not about snagging the first available human that walks to drown all your depressive sorrows in. It's not about drinking yourself until you black out because "you have no one to love." Valentine's Day isn't meant for that. It's meant for people to show their love for each other no matter what relationship it may be. Of course, we can't forget the surface things like the gifts, confessions of love, and dates, but on a much deeper level, it's just being content with the life we have or deciding what needs to be changed so we can have the life we want.
We can only somewhat guide you in that deeper spiritual journey, but fear no more, we have everything you need on Valentine's Day right here to the table of contents on your left! Make sure you check out the latest fashions, what to wear on dates, the best date night movies, and even how to make yourself look your best on your special date. In terms of your deeper spiritual questions, our GBF has got it covered, so make sure you look into his advice! Enjoy yourselves and have an unforgettable February!
