I'll Be Back...

is what the midterms taunt us during this season. It's horrible, I know, and we all hate it, but we're so helpless when it comes this time. I'm sitting next to my good friend who has an Organic Chemistry midterm tomorrow and she is not studying as she can't find any form of motivation. I point and sternly say, "STUDY" and her only response is, "ya, my book's closed." She embodies most college students and it's very common. We all seem to have an issue with motivating ourselves to do better on our tests until that horrible test score comes out.
This issue of EAL is like any other, but we've added a few features that are new. We have some good tips on how to deal with stress especially during this particularly merciless period, but also what to do with the consequences of such great bouts of stress (i.e. acne). We also feature a book review, which is new for EAL, so please, let us know how we're doing! Additionally, we've added a colorful article about Mardi Gras (happening this weekend!), which is a special from our very own GBF as he celebrates with his friends in New Orleans.
Midterms are definitely the bane of all existence, but we all go through them at some point in time, so why not just look on the bright side? Whether it's that you realize you've actually learned more than you expected or looking forward to the days when it's over, there's always a silver lining to something, even something as horrible as midterms. Even my friend has finally opened her book and began studying!
If you're not in school and are already in the workforce, you can still look forward to something, whether it be that long awaited vacation or even just some me time at the end of the week. The point is, stress is unnecessary (at least too much stress) and we all have to find ways to deal with it.
EAL has some good pointers for you, but all the same, we have your one stop for the latest fashion trends, most recent entertainment, and much more if there's just something you need to help you relax a bit and maybe even get a few laughs out of or take away some valuable advice.
Enjoy your March, Happy St. Patrick's Day, and remember, always look for the silver lining!
